THE world’s largest luxury sailing ship is returning to Harwich next week following its inaugural voyage around the country.

The Golden Horizon, a steel-hulled five-masted barque rigged tall ship, is scheduled to pull back into the town on August 4.

Boasting everything from a beautiful dining room and spa to a dive centre and library, the vessel has 140 staterooms which all face out onto the ocean.

Currently, the ship is completing some of its final trips of the tour, travelling from Dover to the likes of Crowes and Torquay before docking in Harwich.

Lucia Campanella, a Harwich travel expert, was recently welcomed on to the Golden Horizon for a two-night VIP trip, sailing from Plymouth to Dover.

Speaking about her experience she said: “We had a tour of the ship and experienced what was on offer when sailing on a tall ship, which was a first for me.

“The highlight was the sail away evening party when they opened the sails at sea - I love it that much that I am going on it again.

“The Golden Horizon is a real gem, the staff are so welcoming, and the cabins are elegant, well-appointed, and the beds are so comfy.

“Once she leaves the UK she will be doing some fantastic voyages including Australia and the South Pacific.

“But she will also be in Harwich on August 14, so if you live locally, here is a chance to catch a glimpse or even book a sailing.”
