VOLUNTEERS are needed to help keep a community shop up and running.

Langham Community Shop is calling for extra helping hands following a difficult year and a half caused by the pandemic.

A spokesman for the shop said: "Our amazing team of volunteers have kept going through all of it, working so many hours, providing hundreds of orders and deliveries to the community, keeping the shop open and running when we are allowed to do so and so much more.

"Sadly our numbers have reduced for a number of reasons, and now we need more help.

"The same volunteers are still working so many hours and now need a well earned break.

"We are finding it difficult to cover the shifts or to move forward at the hours we are currently open."

The shop sells a range of products from coffee to ice cream, but it can only serve customers if there are enough volunteers.

Volunteers have considered reducing the shop's opening hours, but do not want to do this.

The shifts they need help with are two and a half hours.

She added: "Offering such a small amount of time would make such a huge difference to us.

"You are never on your own and will always be with an experienced volunteer.

"Can you find that little bit of time in your day to join us?"
