A GREAT Bromley man has been banned from the roads for more than a year after admitting drink driving on the A12.
Charlton Shimwell, 21, of Harwich Road, was found to be driving his Land Rover Defender over the legal alcohol limit on the north-bound carriageway of the A12 at Colchester on September 26.
Colchester’s Magistrates' Court heard Shimwell had 46mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, fined £184 and must pay £105 costs.
He must also pay a £34 surcharge to fund victim services.
