RENOWNED musicians and actors will be taking over town to mark Remembrance Day.

The Remembrance Review, which is organised by the Frinton War Memorial Club, will feature three shows across the weekend at McGrigor Hall in Fourth Avenue, with profits going to SSAFA - the oldest national armed forces charity.

The first set of concerts will take place next Saturday at 3pm and 7pm, starring Hugh Maynard, the artist who is best known for playing as the original Simba in The Lion King in its West End opening.

Maynard has also made an appearance in leading roles in London musicals including Miss Saigon, Joseph and His Amazing Dreamcoat, including Sweeney Todd.

Seymour Matthews and Jemima Watling will also join the cast together with Allo Allo actor John D. Collins and his daughter Pippa D. Collins.

John D. Collins added: "There will be musical accompaniments from a live three piece band to give something for everyone from the music of Flanders and Swann to iconic Bond themes.

"On Sunday at 10am there will also be a memorial service, Lest We Forget outside the club.

"The Memorial Club is also mounting an historical exhibition to commemorate both Remembrance Sunday and its own centenary."

The final round of entertainment will take place on Sunday at 6pm with Tom Carradine entertaining with Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-Long at the McGrigor Hall.

Tickets can be bought from the Frinton War Memorial Club in 88 Fourth Avenue or via email at info@frintonwarmemorialclub.com.

The Remembrance Review costs £20 and the Sing-a-Long is £5.
