TRAFFIC is building after a broken down vehicle partially blocked a main road.
Drivers are experiencing delays on the A12's Southbound carriageway between Junction 28 and Junction 27.
The incident is also impacting surrounding roads, including the A120 towards Elmstead Market, Cowdray Avenue, Ipswich Road, Mill Road, Northern Approach and many others.
The congestion, described as 'chaos', is a result of a vehicle which broke down earlier this morning near the Colchester United football stadium.

It is understood the car moved from the carriageway to a place of safety following the arrival of police and has since been recovered.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a broken-down vehicle on the A12, Southbound, near to Junction 28 at about 7.20am this morning.
"The vehicle was recovered and the road reopened around 9.50am."
