A CLACTON arts venue will be helping children get their letters to Father Christmas this winter.

Elves at the Princes Theatre will be delivering the letters to Santa to add a touch of magic over the holidays.

Everyone who wants to write a Christmas letter can use the special post box inside the Town Hall or the brass letterbox to the side of the entrance when the hall is closed.

Little ones who post a letter before December 13 will receive a personalised reply from Father Christmas.

Councillor Alex Porter, responsible for leisure and tourism and a chief elf at the theatre, said: “We already try to add our own bit of magic to Christmas with the pantomime, which is a treat for the whole family, but this year we wanted to make it extra special.

“So if your little one would like a letter from Santa then you can write to him through us here at the Princes Theatre and we’ll make sure he writes back – even though it is a very busy time.”

Letters could also be posted to Santa c/o Princes Theatre, Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton, CO15 1SE.

To receive a response from Santa children must also include their return address.
