A BEST-SELLING Colchester author has published a new book detailing a lengthy walk on which he embarked along the southern boundary of Essex.
Mark Russell, of Colchester, has just released Our Southern Shore: Walking the Essex Thames – from Shoeburyness to the River Lea.
It documents the keen rambler and writer’s journey from Shoeburyness into Southend, then onwards to Leigh-on-Sea, Canvey Island, Tilbury and Thurrock.
As the title suggests, it concludes with Mark reaching the historic River Lea where Essex blends into London near Canning Town.
His latest paperback is the third in a series of books all about his adventurous yet relaxing strolls along the edges of the county.
The Longest Path - Walking the Essex Coast, for example, hit the selves back in late 2020 and sold more than 150 copies in the run-up to Christmas.
Prior to that Mark released Walking The Stour – an Essex River, which detailed his walk from New England to Harwich.
All three books are now available to purchase from Red Lion Books, in High Street, Colchester, for £11.99 or £9.99 if bought before the end of the month.
The trilogy can also be ordered online by visiting redlionbooks.co.uk.
