SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's win at Altrincham.

One swallow doesn’t make a summer. Let’s see if the swallows are still flying Tues week.

@onlytheburge

It was very cold but at least it didn’t rain. Game of two halves but we hung on for the win. So glad for three points & the managers celebrating in front of the fans was great.

@clarebear62_b

Training ground stuff coming through. The shape against their strong wingers, the second goal. Resilient and brave when we had something to defend. Loads to build on.

@Jaimundo_ESX

I really expected us to give a goal away in the last five minutes as we normally do, well done to the boys for proving me wrong thank god for 4-4-2 at last .

@jervetheswerve1

Great result and full credit to the management team. Now need to put a run of results together and get away from the bottom three.

@Simon_Dodd

Predicted a loss, over the moon to be proved wrong. However, we clung on in the second half, doesn't change my opinion that fresh faces are needed.

@SteveShelsher

Great results and sounded like a decent performance. But now we really need a run of results. Way too often in the past few years when we win a game we go on to lose the next four or five.

@DanDobisz

Great result and a strong backs to the wall performance, but in reality Steve Arnold, not for the first time this season ,has saved us from another defeat. Midfield still the problem but at last Dunne was left out, and nice to see both strikers score again.

@YeattsMatthew

First signs of what Maher and co are building and I like it. Everyone played well, notably Arnold. I refuse to believe this is a terrible squad.. there are good players here, just need to strengthen couple of areas. Need to go on a run now.

@Ljarvis27

A massive three points and hopefully a result we can build on and push on up the league. Brilliant penalty save from Arnold and great to see both Dalby and Murphy on the scoresheet.

@KetchleyShane

Brilliant result so well done to the players, management & 256 dedicated supporters who made the trip. If we can start to score goals regularly then we give ourselves a chance in every game. New signings though still crucial to strengthen the squad to get us out of trouble!

@tommyharris57

It was good to see us start on the front foot we gave Altrincham a taste of what teams have been doing to us. All hero's today but one player stood out over them all,that was Steve Arnold.

@phillsilver9

For the first time this season, we didn’t lie down and give up! Our backs were against the wall for most of the second half. Yes, we rode our luck, but that’s what we have to do ! So much better. Early days, but definitely positive. We need a speedy forward in January!

@joe_lachter

Unbelievably, we regularly passed to our own players. Cohesion. Ran the first half, lapsed early second half but their penalty miss was huge. Big encouraging signs.

@theseaside100

Feel for the fella who missed both goals as he was in the toilet!
