A DANCE school from Harwich had multiple winners at a nationwide event.

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) dance national finals took place on Sunday, December 5.

Boogie Shoes dance academy attended the event and had five winners on the day.

Sienna Bowler won two events, the under eight set dance by herself and the under eight rock and roll with her partner Faith Rayner.

Morgan Childs won the solo section event, and Becky Saunders was also a solo winner.

A special mention goes to Donna King who, at 42, competed in the over 21 section and placed above many younger competitors.

Boogie Shoes dance academy was established in 2006, teaching more than 200 students since.

The academy did not close during the pandemic as classes were run on zoom meetings.

Students returned to competing in June 2021 on zoom in set dance and rock and roll dance, then regional heats before the national finals took place.

Boogie Shoes had 83 students reach the national finals and 30 students had placed finishes.

Classes at Boogie Shoes start again on January 6, ages range from 18 months to adulthood.
