A CAROL concert in Dovercourt has been cancelled following fears about the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
Little Acorn Spiritualist Centre, based at Long Meadows Community Centre, was due to host its Christmas carol service on Sunday, December 19.
The church cited the current dramatic rise in Covid infections as the main reason for the cancellation.
A spokesperson said: “We have a duty of care to all who attend and feel it is irresponsible to go ahead.
“Harwich and Dovercourt is currently a low risk area and it is best kept that way.
“Next year we will return to Long Meadows community centre and will post a programme when things become clearer.”
“We would also like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year which will be better in all ways.”
