Covid case rates across Wrexham have fallen dramatically throughout January.

The latest seven-day Covid case rate for the county is 496.1 cases per 100,000 people.

That rate in the week up to January 4 was 2,138.8 cases per 100,000 people, more than four times as high.

While the latest MSOA (middle layer super output areas) data released by Public Health Wales shows that two areas of Wrexham are among the areas with the highest Covid rates in Wales.

The worst Covid rate across the county is found in Wrexham West.

In the seven days between January 13 and January 19, there were 81 new cases in the area, giving it a case rate of 971.9 per 100,000 people.
