A MUCH-LOVED nature reserve in Dovercourt is proving popular with families following the emergence of snowdrops.

Bobbit’s Hole, in Main Road, is run by the Harwich Society and there is always something to see whatever the time of year.

A favourite time for many visitors is when the snowdrops appear as an ongoing planting scheme has resulted in a beautiful display that has become more and more spectacular over the years.

The snowdrops are now in full bloom and the Harwich Society volunteers who manage Bobbit’s Hole are delighted with the outcome.

Aileen Farnell, who is a member of the Bobbit’s Hole team, said: “We have added to the snowdrops each year for a considerable number of years and the annual display is now a truly lovely sight.

“We welcome visitors through all of the seasons but I doubt there is a more attractive time to visit Bobbit’s Hole than when the snowdrops are in bloom.”

A group of volunteers opens the reserve every Sunday morning between 10am and noon and all are welcome.

The reserve is situated next to Asda, where parking is available for visitors to the site.
