SCHOOL pupils have revealed the results of their incredible Twosday events to mark a rather unusual date.

Children from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Dovercourt took part in the challenge, which recognised 22/02/2022 and came up with creative ways to raise £20.22.

Harper Bennett, five, raised £20.22 by doing a sponsored silence, Gracie Gueizelar, seven, raised £240.22 from litter picking every day this month for 20 minutes and 22 seconds.

Other pupils collected litter, baked cakes and sold at pubs such as Darcie Quarless, five, who made £25 by selling homemade cakes in Shakers Bar.

Some of the children wanted to keep fit and raise money, Reece Carmichael, seven, raised money by riding his bike for 22km.

Laurence Wynne-Jones, ten, raised money in the past through art books he started producing during the first lockdown.

His mother Lydia Wynn-Jones, 40, said: “He likes watching Art Ninja and a lot of videos on YouTube where he learns different techniques.

“He is very quiet in many ways, but he really enjoys being able to sell books to the children at school.”

The next fundraiser will be the returning school auction on Friday, March 25, the event has been put off for two years due to the pandemic.

The children will be writing to businesses in the hopes of prize and voucher donations that can be auctioned on the day.
