A PRIMARY school has struck gold in a district-wide sports competition.
Chase Lane Primary School in Dovercourt took part in the Tendring Primary School Finals and its year 5 and 6 indoors athletics team came away with the top prize.
The competition was staged at the Colne School in Brightlingsea, where 26 Chase Lane pupils performed a variety of activities from long jumps and triple jumps to chest push and running.
Sports instructor Lee Barrett said: “All of the children represented Chase Lane fantastically well, performing superbly in each of their events and supporting each other throughout the afternoon.
“As always the relay events proved to be incredibly exciting and fast paced, Kane Greene ran an unbelievable last leg in the boys 4x1 relay race to seal the victory.
“Other stand out performances were Lola Kenny in the girls triple jump and Daniel Paice in the boys javelin.”
The pupils are now looking forward to taking part in the Essex finals.
