Parents have been encouraged to book places for their children to get involved in free taster sessions, with more than 70 children already signed up.

Lawford Fun Football is a new initiative by Lawford Football Club in the hopes of inspiring the next generation of footballers by letting youngsters learn and play the game in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Michael Lace, coach for Lawford Football Club said: “Our sessions are inclusive for children of all abilities as we strongly believe that every child should be given the opportunity to play.

““The children are split into school year groups, and each has a dedicated team of coaches.

“We feel this is important as it enables our coaches to get to know all the children in their groups which means they can ensure every child’s needs are fully met.”

Lawford Fun Football takes place from 9.30am to 10.30am at the club’s ground in School Lane, Lawford.

Sessions are available for boys from reception to year four and girls from reception through to year 11.

The first three sessions are three and sessions after cost £3.
