THE new landlords of an award-winning alehouse are welcoming back customers.

Robert Ranson, 52, and his wife Teresa Ranson,51, have now taken charge of the Ye Olde Cherry Tree in Clacton Road, Little Oakley, and plan to revive “the good old village pub vibe”.

The couple used to run the Hannover Inn in Harwich but after a one-year break they realised they wanted to go back to the hospitality industry.

So Robert and Teresa are now the new owners of the The Ye Olde Cherry Tree.

Robert said: “People can expect a friendly welcome and good beer.

“And then once we have opened up and we are doing drinks we will launch a whole new menu starting from scratch.

One of the things Rob enjoys the most about running a local pub is meeting the people.

He added: “I suppose also the satisfaction. We also enjoy turning out really good food.”

Back in March, the Ye Olde Cherry Tree was recognised by the Tendring branch of the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) after being named as cider pub of the year.
