SCHOOLS across Harwich are gearing up for a right royal celebration today.

Spring Meadow Primary School in Dovercourt will be organising an exhibition which will be on show throughout the day.

Each class has been given a decade of the Queen’s reign to focus on and produce a piece of artwork which will be displayed.

The children will be making the most our of the festivities with a themed picnic lunch.

In Great Bromley, St George's Primary School will be throwing a street party for the pupils on the school field.

The children have been learning a special jubilee song and will also be taking part in various art and craft activities from 1pm.

The Lawford Primary School will also be celebrating the Queen with an exciting programme.

The school’s PTA will be organising a family jubilee afternoon tea, with children sharing their work and performing a few songs from throughout Her Majesty’s reign.

The festivities will be taking place today from 2pm.

Pupils at Chase Lane Primary School and Nursery, in Dovercourt will also be holding a lunchtime street party, before gathering for a sing-a-long at 1pm.
