A SPIRITUALISTIC evening of afterlife investigations will take place inside the creepy concrete walls of a historic fort next month.
The Harwich Redoubt Fort, in Main Road, will host its Paranormal Night on July 9, organised by the Kallima Wellbeing Centre.
Built in 1808 to defend the port of Harwich against a Napoleonic invasion, the structure was part of the scheme that included the construction of 29 Martello Towers on the East Anglian coast.
These days the site, which has ten guns, plays home to a much-used military museum and also sometimes stages re-enactments of bloody battles.
During the sure-to-be spooky event, running between 7pm and 12.30am, guests will embark on a hunt through the corridors and casements of the complex.
They will also explore sections of the building in which ghost sightings have been reported before holding lone vigil and séances, and trying their luck on a spirit board.
A spokesman for the Paranormal Night said: “On this night we have the sole use of the fort to carry out our investigation.”
Tickets for the event, which cost £35 including drinks and snacks, can be purchased by visiting eventbrite.co.uk.
