A LIBRARY held a free event for children to learn about science through fun and experimental activities.

Harwich Library hosted the free science event for children aged five to 13 on Saturday, January 14.

The event was run by Kinetic Science UK who encouraged attendees to experiment with winter lab activities such as making paper flowers to prove paper does not get soggy in water.

A spokeswoman for Harwich Library said: “Experimenting with different density food colourings proved most popular with the children, as they filled test tubes with liquids using a pipette to make rainbow colours.

“They also had to choose from various liquids to find the best way to excavate penguins from the ice, salt and  water being the winner.
