AN event to mark Mother’s Day will offer up businesses, crafters and live entertainment.

Events in Harwich will host its Mother’s Day Big Event which is an opportunity to celebrate all motherly figures.

On the day businesses will showcase a diverse selection of gifts customers can purchase for loved ones from handmade jewellery and pottery to woodwork.

Jay Thomas, events manager at Events in Harwich, said: “This event is an opportunity to showcase the talents of our local community and provide a fun and engaging experience for all.

“We hope to see everyone come out and celebrate the special women in their lives.”

In addition to the shopping, visitors will be treated to live entertainment in the afternoon and youngsters will take part in a free Mother’s Day card making activity.

Children will have the opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind card for their mother or special mother figure.

The Mother’s Day Big Event will cost 50p to attend with the entry fee and raffle going towards mental health charity Walk and Talk 4 Men.

The event will take place in Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre on Sunday, March 19, from 10am until 4pm.
