A LEADING provider of labelling solutions celebrated Global Recycle Day by hosting a table top sale encouraging residents to sell their unwanted items rather than use a landfill.

SATO in Harwich hosted the event  to raise money for the company’s charity of the year, the North Essex Support Team (NEST) which supports struggling families in the community.

The table top sale, which took place in Parkeston Railway Club, saw a variety of items sold from books to clothes and electronics.

Ginette May, marketing manager at SATO, said: “We were thrilled to host this event on Global Recycle Day, which is all about promoting the importance of recycling and reducing waste.

“By encouraging people to sell their unwanted items, we were able to divert them from ending up in landfill, which is not only better for the environment but also helps support a circular economy."

The funds raised from the table top sale will go directly to helping these families in need.

Ginette added: “We are pleased to announce that we raised £113.30 from the event, we would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the sale.

“Your generosity and support will make a real difference to the families supported by NEST.”
