EMPLOYEES from across the Harwich Haven Authority are raising funds for a charitable cause.

They will be taking part in the EnduranceLife Suffolk trail run, which will take place on October 14 in Dunwich.

The group aim to raise funds for Teen Talk Harwich, voted by Harwich Haven Authority employees as their charity of the year earlier in 2023.

Overall, the EnduranceLife Suffolk includes a 10k, half marathon and marathon trail.

In total 13 employees from Harwich Haven Authority are tackling the challenge in support of Teen Talk Harwich.

Writing on Facebook, a spokesman for Harwich Haven Authority said: “Earlier this year, employees voted for Teen Talk Harwich as our charity of the year to recognise and support the work this grassroots organisation delivers across the Tendring area of Essex.

“Teen Talk Harwich works with young people aged 11-25 and their families, providing both one-to-one support and a range of practical workshops to help build skills and confidence.

“From hands-on activities such as cookery and garden projects, to establishing a youth forum to develop abilities and key skills, Teen Talk Harwich are doing great work in the heart of our local community to support young people in need.

“Our running team have dedicated themselves to months of training to prepare for the trails, which will take entrants through a tricky landscape including forest, moorland, grass and beach terrain.

“We have no doubt it will test our runners, so please give generously if you can to show your support for our team as they race to the finish, raising urgent funds for Teen Talk Harwich with every step.”
