A DOVERCOURT youngster showed her generous festive spirit by donating 12 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust just before Christmas.

Freya Copping, 11, is a pupil at Harwich and Dovercourt High School and lives with her mum Sam, dad Lee and older sister Ella.

Sam said the idea to donate hair to the Little Princess Trust came about after Freya already had a haircut booked.

The hair cut took place at the Hair and Beauty Bar in Dovercourt.

Sam added: “We had booked a hair cut and she wanted to go short, so we talked about the Little Princess Trust and how it does such a fantastic job supporting children experiencing hair loss, by creating wigs.

“So, we measured her hair and there was enough for a good donation  - 12 inches.

“She really chose to do it to help someone before Christmas.”

Sam said Freya was “a bit nervous” before having her hair cut and did not ask for any sponsorship before having it done.

She added: “She has now got a JustGiving page and in just a few hours it has raised over £100.”
