A NON-PROFIT organisation in Harwich has thanked members of the community after receiving donations in time for Christmas.
Although it is an independent charity, Home-Start Harwich is also supported by the national HomeStart UK organisation.
Home-Start Harwich offers services including one-to-one parenting support, practical and emotional support, behaviour advice and strategies to support children aged up to 11.
It also offers peer support to improve resilience and isolation, group support for parents and children to build skills and volunteer recruitment and training.
A spokesman for Home-Start Harwich said: “We need to say a huge thank you for the generous donations of toys and gifts we have received in the past few days - to the staff, parents and children of Noah’s Nursery, to Gareth Charles and family and to the Friends of the Maybush pub in Great Oakley.
“Today we wrapped and labelled gifts, we would not have been able to do this without your kindness and generosity - we wish you all a wonderful Christmas.
“We also need to mention the continued support of Morrisons Harwich and a special thank you for the treats you sent for staff and volunteers, much appreciated.”
