Crowds are expected to fill pubs and restaurants across Old Leigh next month as the popular shanty festival returns.
Scores of musicians from across the UK as well as Ireland and Holland will be performing their sea shanty music for free in the scenic setting of the Old Town.
Over the weekend, on May 18 and 19, a charity collection will be arranged in aid of the Southend RNLI, Leigh Lions Club and Leigh Endeavour Trust.

The festival stage will be on Strand Wharf with supporting events taking place over two days at the Mayflower, the Old Smack, the Boatyard Restaurant, The Peter Boat, the Crooked Billet and No 1 Cockleshed.
The community event is free to attendees and is being sponsored by Priority Management to celebrate their 35 years serving the community.
