New road closures on the A419 and M4 near Swindon could cause delays for drivers.

National Highways released the latest list of work planned in the area.

Three begin in the coming days, one ends later this week, and one ongoing scheme is continuing until June.

The A419 will be closed southbound between the A420 and Commonhead junctions from 8pm on May 2 to 6am on May 3 so that traffic loop works can be carried out, which is expected to add 10 to 30 minutes to motorists’ journeys.

Lanes on the M4 westbound between junctions 15 and 16 will be closed from 9pm on Thursday, May 2, to 6am on Friday, May 3, for carriageway repairs, causing delays of under 10 minutes.

From 8pm on Tuesday, May 7, to 6am on Thursday, May 9, lanes in both directions at Junction 16 will be closed for surveys, adding less than 10 minutes to people’s travel.

The M4 westbound Junction 15 entry slip road has been closed since 8pm on Monday, April 29, causing delays of up to 30 minutes, but it will be reopening at around 6am on Wednesday, May 1.

Ongoing lane closures for maintenance work in both directions of the M4 from junctions 14 to 15 are continuing until 6am on Tuesday, June 4, causing delays of under 10 minutes.
