Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Harwich High Street which left a man badly injured and needing hospital treatment.
Police were called to the scene late on Sunday night (September 8) after receiving reports that a man had been assaulted, suffering multiple injuries.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The victim was approached by another man at around 11.20pm when he was dragged to the floor and punched several times."
Police confirmed the victim was taken to hospital for treatment and had sustained a fractured nose, eye socket and cheek bone.
Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack to come forward.
Anyone with information or who witnessed the assault is asked to call the police on 101 or use the force's Live Chat service online, quoting incident 42/137517/24.
