TLH2P A SCULPTURE created by primary school pupils and residents of a care home for adults with learning disabilities is on display.

The headless banker with a chair of money will be on show at Manningtree Train Station for commuters to see as they use the service to get to work.

Anthony Green, Executive Development Manager at Acorn Village in Mistley, said: “The sculpture was part of a creative art project, which is done alongside the people who have learning disabilities.

“It is a piece of fun, being able to look at what’s happeneing in the day to day news and things like the credit crunch.

“It is a very small sculpture of a person holding a chair covered in money. The banker has lost his head, it is quite funny.

“It’s all aprt of us being part of whats happening.”

Children from East Bergholt Primary School helped in making the sculpture.

It is now on display at the train station and will be there for a couple of weeks before it finds a new display place back at Acorn Village.

Mr Green added: “The residents are really pleased with it, it has added a little bit of hunour.

“And we have had great feedback from people who have seen it. ”

A National Express East Anglia spokesperson, said: “We’re happy to work with our partners and station tenants to enhance the appearance and environment of our stations.”
