HARWICH said goodbye to a local legend this week at a former chip shop owner’s funeral.
Kieron Mealing, who owned Pieseas chip shop on West Street, died on January 4 after a battle with cancer.
An estimated 500 family and friends of the 62-year-old joined together for a celebration of his life at St Nicholas Church, Harwich.
His love of Harley Davidsons meant he was honoured with a tour of the town on a motorbike hearse, followed by a group of more than 40 friends riding motorbikes.
The service continued at Weeley Crematorium before the wake at United Services on Barrack Lane.
Donations were taken for Harwich RNLI.
