CONTROVERSIAL plans for a supermarket in Manningtree have been approved.
Blueprints for the Tesco store, at the former Railex site in Station Road, went before Tendring Council's planning committee this evening.
They include the demolition of existing buildings on the industrial site and construction of a new 1,920sq metre store, a 245-space car park, service areas and landscaping.
The plan was approved by five votes to two. There were four abstentions.
