WRITING enthusiasts are being offered the chance to have their words read by a wide audience at a festival this year.
It’s all part of the Harwich Shanty Festival which is due to take place on the weekend of October 8 – 10.
The theme is the historic voyage of the Mayflower in 1620 and writers of all talents, beginner or established, can all get involved.
Poetry, prose or a story, all forms of writing are welcome and can be interpreted however you choose.
Festival organisers have said they are looking for something new, interesting and original and welcome readings of any existing work.
Debbie Jones, representing the festival, said: “With the festival almost six months away there is plenty of time to plan, so we hope that as many of you as possible will take part.
“We do not need the piece itself as yet, but would like to know if you have an idea and would like to take part.”
Those who want to get involved should visit the festival’s website.
