A man has been charged with attempted murder following a mass brawl in Glasgow city centre.

Police confirmed the 25-year-old will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Three people were seriously injured in the disturbance which followed the Old Firm match at Celtic Park on March 31.

A 47-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Earlier on Thursday, police said they had arrested and charged a 27-year-old man in connection with the disturbance, which took place on Blackfriars street in the Merchant City area.

The man, Jack Docherty, of Glasgow, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with three assaults and a breach of the peace, but made no plea.

He was granted bail and is due to appear at a later date.

On Monday, five people appeared at the same court charged with a breach of the peace in connection with the incident.

Kahl Cullen, 23, Gemma Martin, 24, Andrew Quinn, 25, William Barclay, 27, and James Quinn, 20, made no plea.

They were granted bail pending their next court appearance.
