A DOVERCOURT woman is taking part in a trek across Peru to encourage women to check for the early signs of breast cancer.
Carolyn Kadlec is raising money for the Coppafeel charity which aims to stamp out the late detection of breast cancer.
They want to spread the word about women checking their breasts and getting them checked by a doctor if they have any concerns.
She will take part in a trek along the Inca Trail in September and hopes to raise more than £3,000.
Carolyn, who is a assistant contracts manager at the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Some have described me crazy in taking this challenge on but I feel passionate about spreading the word of early detection of cancer and needed something to motivate me."
