A YOUNG singer has scooped the prestigious title of Tendring’s Young Musician of the Year.
Zachary Kleanthous, 18, competed against instrumentalists and other vocalists at the Manningtree Stour Valley Rotary Club event, which was held at St Mary’s and St Michael’s Church, in Mistley.
Along with the title, the Clacton teenager won £150, a trophy and will have the chance to perform with the Clacton Concert Orchestra and to represent the Tendring area in the Rotary District Final at Chelmsford Cathedral.
Spring Meadow Primary School, in Dovercourt, was also celebrating at the event after winning first prize in the competition’s ensemble category.
