CHILDREN hunted and raced in Maldon town to take part in an annual Easter event.

Maldon Carnival’s Easter egg hunt took place in Promenade Park and saw loads of families join the Easter Bunny in a hunt and an egg roll race.

Clues to an Easter riddle were scattered around the small park and children found clues which revealed the answer and a chocolate egg prize.

Different age groups then took part in the race to roll an egg with a spoon along the grass.

The event was attended by town mayor Jeanette Stilts and the royalty from last year’s carnival.

This year’s carnival week will start on July 29 with the Maldon Carnival taking place on August 3.
