Tributes have been paid to a grandmother who died following a collision in Mistley last month.

Gillian Rollings, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision in New Road on the evening of the October 21.

Mrs Rollings, who was known to her loved ones as Gill, was from nearby Manningtree.

Her family have expressed their sadness at her passing.

In tribute, they said: “Gill was a much-loved sister, mum, aunt and nan.

“A devoted animal lover, she ran her own dog-walking and pet-sitting business, and always took such wonderful care of her charges.

“She will be missed enormously by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

“Her death is a terrible shock but we are very grateful for the messages of support we have received.”

Police were called to New Road shortly before 6.40pm to reports that a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision near to the bowls club.

Following a thorough investigation, Mrs Rollings’ death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.

The force said its thoughts were with her family at this incredibly difficult time.
