MORE than 4,000 shoppers flocked to Chelmsford City Racecourse at Great Leighs for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity Christmas Gift and Food Fair on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24.

Money raised from the fair will goes towards the work the charity does to treat cancer patients and giving them a better quality of life while living with cancer.

The fair is hailed as one of the region’s biggest and best Christmas shopping events with more than 120 independent retailers selling a variety of items, including gifts, homeware, jewellery, art, books and toys.

Suzanne Watson, community fundraiser for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity said: “We’ve been absolutely blown away by the amount of visitors that we’ve had at this year’s Christmas Gift and Food fair.

“We have received some fantastic feedback about the quality and variety of products on sale and everyone’s been really impressed with the venue at Chelmsford City Racecourse.”

Alongside the shopping strands were a range of popular food trucks and stalls, including the Giggly Pig Company, Spice Queen and Perfect Potato.

Visitors also played fun, festive-themed games.

Over the weekend thousands of pounds were raised for Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.

Suzanne added: “It’s been wonderful to see so many people coming out to show their support.

“Thank you to all our fantastic retailers, volunteers and everyone who attended.”
