A FIRE service has invited people to donate items they no longer need to its Winter Warmers Christmas appeal.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s appeal has been set up to help struggling families within communities in the north of the county who have little or no winter clothing, shoes, boots or bedding.
Essex Fire Service community builder Les Nicoll set up the initiative eight years ago at Dovercourt Fire Station.
He has also spent the past three years collecting donations to send Christmas hampers to families who can’t afford food or Christmas presents for their children.
Last year he raised £4,500 through the Christmas Hamper Appeal and helped 51 families.
To donate items for the Winter Warmers Christmas appeal visit Dovercourt Fire Station in Fronks Road or visit bit.ly/35dNrr9.
