COLNE Engaine residents were recently treated a Christmas party for dogs.

Taking place last weekend, the Five Bells Public House in Colne Engaine played host to the unusual festive event.

The party was attended by numerous dog owners and their four legged friends, proving to be a fun packed night for all those in attendance.

A spokesperson from the Saint Arnold Group, who own the Five Bells in Colne Engaine along with other pubs across the area such as the Griffin in Halstead, said: "We had 14 dogs attend the event along with the owners.

"There were human and doggie mince pies, sausage rolls plus doggie beer! Santa Paws also visited with some lovely treats for all our furry friends. We had visitors from all over Colchester and Gosfield.

"The Five Bells and all of the other pubs in the Saint Arnold Group pride themselves on being 'Dog friendly' venues.

"We thought that Christmas isn't just for us - our furry friends enjoy it too. We wanted to make a special day dedicated to them."

The Five Bells will be continuing their festive events with a Barrel Hunt on boxing day in support of the Essex and Herts air ambulance.
