THE spectacular grounds and wildlife of the Marks Hall Estate have long been a favourite with budding photographers and these stunning shots show why.
The venue has announced the winner of its Winter at Marks Hall photography competition.
Top prize went to Shirley Tait for her photograph of three of the estate’s resident geese.
The competition was launched in November to coincide with Marks Hall Estate hosting the International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition and encouraged amateur photographers to capture the natural beauty of winter in the woodlands, arboretum and gardens.
There were three categories - animals and wildlife, trees and woodlands and landscape.
Organisers received 130 entries and all the photos were taken at Marks Hall Estate between November 29 and February 23.
The finalists went in front of a panel of judges, including Marks Hall estate staff and professional photographers, who picked a winner and a highly commended entrant in each category.
