A BUCKET full of green gunge was poured over a holiday park entertainer’s head after he reached his fundraising target for an NHS charity.

Reece Lloyd, who has previously worked at Dovercourt Holiday Park, got covered in slime last Thursday in aid of NHS Charities Together.

The sponsored gunge, which Reece shared online with social media users, has now raised more than £900 in total for the charity.

Reece, 19, from Chester, worked at the holiday park last year as an entertainer.

But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he had to be sent home from work and the idea of getting gunged for charity crossed his mind during isolation as a way to make people laugh during these difficult times.

He pledged to get gunged as soon as he raised £200 - and also promised an extra surprise was in store on completing the challenge.

Reece said: “Within just a few days the £200 target was reached, which I am unbelievably pleased about, and so happy that everyone come together to support the NHS by donating what they can.

“Like I said, one the target was reached, I would be gunged. And that is exactly what happened.

“As well as this, I did also say that I had a surprise that didn’t want to be missed.

“That surprise was that I would personally double the target that has been raised.

“I donated one week’s worth of wages which more than doubled the amount of money in the fundraiser.”

The total amount raised, including Reece’s input and gift aid donations, is £975.

He added: “I would personally like to thank every person that has donated.

“Every penny counts and it is all going to a great cause.”

Reece is now fundraising to be dunked into a 6473-litre pool of ice cold water for charity.

His new fundraising venture is called Reece’s Splash Down which will also be streamed online for all to watch.
