FIVE holiday parks in north Essex will re-open their doors following the easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

Highfield Grange and Valley Farm in Clacton, Weeley Bridge, Naze Marine in Walton and Coopers Beach on Mersea Island all re-open tomorrow.

They are all run by Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s largest operator of caravan, lodge, cabin, glamping and camping holiday resorts.

The firm said re-opening now means more than 450 jobs in the region have been secured.

Parkdean Resorts said it is anticipating one of its busiest summers ever and has recruited an additional 1,500 workers across the country.

It added to ensure a safe re-opening, all holiday parks have introduced a number of stringent safety and hygiene processes and procedures in line with Government guidelines including implementing a distance policy, drive-thru check-ins and one-way systems.

There will also be a deep cleaning of each caravan between customers and restricted access to communal facilities.

Steve Richards, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “Our team has worked hard to ensure that whilst social distancing and health and safety measures are adhered to, our holidaymakers’ experience will be the best yet.”
