A popular attraction is planning to return after a long break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In conjunction with Maldon Town Council, Maldon Film Club is drawing up plans to restart screenings in early 2021.

The committee is working hard to complete a risk assessment of the Town Hall to ensure that all guidelines can be met.

Committee Member, John Salisbury said: "Members will once again be able to watch and enjoy films in a safe and secure environment.

"As part of our phased re-opening the committee is delighted to announce that it is putting a place a system that, once again, will enable members to borrow DVDs for the club’s extensive film library.

"It is expected that the new arrangements will begin early in October and further details will follow in due course.

"Fortunately we are in a strong position financially and the committee is confident that it will be able to continue through and far beyond Covid-19.

£On behalf of the committee may I send best wishes to all those associated with Maldon Film Club. We look forward to re-opening our doors and to the return of one of Maldon’s most successful, highly regarded and well supported community groups."

As soon as it is completed, members will be sent a copy of the plan, which will be kept under constant review by the committee.
