A WOMAN was arrested after emergency services had to free her from an overturned car last week.
Essex Police and fire teams from Halstead and Sible Hedingham were called to the scene of a crash on Friday 18 September in Wethersfield Road, Sible Hedingham.
Officers arrived at around 11pm to find a woman trapped inside a car following a road traffic collision.
Only one vehicle was involved in the incident with it overturning on to its side in the crash.
Fire crews were able to rescue the woman by 11.17pm where she was then left in the care of the ambulance service.
However, the 40 year old woman from Saffron Walden was then arrested by Essex Police.
She was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 11pm on Friday 18 September about a single vehicle collision in Wethersfield Road, Sible Hedingham.
"We received reports that the vehicle ended up on its side.
"We arrested a 40-year-old woman from Saffron Walden on suspicion of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and she has been released under investigation."
