WE’VE got a real treat - rather than a trick - in today’s Gazette as the clock ticks towards next weekend’s Halloween celebrations.

With just a few days to go, we asked our Camera Club members for their best spooky pictures of Colchester and north Essex.

Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

Lifting our spirits - Carol Franklyn sent this picture of a church in Bocking

We threw down the gauntlet and asked for your best photos - maybe eerie shots of the castle or images dominated by shadows, cobwebs or the moon.

As you can see from the pictures on this spread, we were not to be disappointed.

Harwich and Manningtree Standard:

No mooner said than done - David Waterman responded to our challenge with this great picture

We received some spectacularly spooky, atmospheric photos so thanks to all who got in touch.

Look out for more of your amazing Halloween-themed pictures in Wednesday’s Gazette.
