In a post on facebook the pub said: "If you are from the Burnham area and are not able to provide a hot lunch for your children during the holiday then please contact us and we will be more than happy to help.

"We will offer a collection service for a hot children’s meal to take away Tuesday to Friday next week.

"We promise to keep all information confidential and we ask nothing in return: there is no charge and it’s totally free.

"No child deserves to go hungry! Where the government has stepped down, we are stepping up and making sure our local children get food they need over the school holidays.

"Times are even harder than usual and we all need to stick together during these difficult times."
