A DEAD seal has been left on a beach for a week, it has been claimed.
Peter Brittain, from Dovercourt, discovered the dead seal amongst the seaweed at Dovercourt Beach last Wednesday.
He reported the seal to Tendring Council, but a week on the deceased seal is still at the beach.
He is now warning dog owners to be vigilant if they go to the beach.
Mr Brittain said: "It’s starting to decompose.
"I’ve still not heard from anyone.
"It’s on left hand side of the Spa Beach Dovercourt."
He believes the seal is a health hazard which needs to be removed.
Tendring Council has been contacted for a comment.
