A THIRD of people in Maldon have now received two doses of a Covid vaccine, figures reveal.

NHS data shows 18,308 people had received both jabs by May 2, a figure of 34 per cent of those aged 16 and over, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.

Of those to have received both jabs, 16,876 were aged 45 and over – 47 per cent of the age group.

It means 1,432 people aged between 16 to 44 have received both doses.

Across Maldon, 73 per cent of those aged 16 and over have had one jab.

Areas with the highest coverage:

• Great Totham, Wickham Bishops & Woodham, with 77.8 per cent

• Burnham-on-Crouch, 75.6 per cent

• Maldon South, 74.6 per cent

Areas with the lowest coverage:

• Maldon North, 69.1 per cent

• Southminster, Bradwell & Dengie Peninsula, 69.5 per cent

• Heybridge, 70.2 per cent
