CRAZY golf owners are offering a free night’s entertainment in return for help to find a thief who smashed his way into their venue.

The thug helped himself to hundreds of pounds worth of alcohol which was being kept in a storeroom, in the popular Caddies, in London Road, Southend.

Angry bosses of the venue took to Facebook to raise the alarm and appeal for witnesses after the break-in during the early hours of Saturday morning.

A spokesman said: “Our storerooms were broken into and a large volume of alcohol was stolen.

“We are a small independent business, a lot of people don’t realise, and stock like this is our lifeline. It sadly isn’t something we can afford to lose.

“If anyone has any information that leads to the safe return of the stock, or the prosecution of this man – it would be greatly appreciated.

“We would happily offer a night at Caddies on us as a huge thank you. Anyone with information can contact the police and quote reference 42/13148/20.”

“Thank you so much in advance for any help.”

Their plea has been met by an outpouring of support on social media from loyal customers.

One posted: “So sorry to hear this chaps, what an absolute waste of oxygen.”

Another customer posted: “So sorry to hear that guys. Hope he gets caught. Keep your chins up.”

One woman said “This is so awful. I hope you guys catch him.”

The post has been shared more than 780 times on Facebook. The popular indoor golfing centre opened in late spring 2018.

It allows visitors to eat, drink and putt, and is a London-style social entertainment venue which blends competitive fun, a British barbecue menu and retro 70s decor.
