A WOMAN has been arrested for assault and a racially aggravated public order after a huge brawl began outside a seafront pub.

The arrest comes after the massive fight broke out on Marine Parade, Southend near the Papillon pub on Friday evening.

Footage shared to Facebook, which has been watched more than 20,000 times, shows multiple women fighting near some tables at the front of the pub.

The fight moves onto the pavement next to a row of parked cars as other punters look on in horror.

Towards the end of the video, a police van shows up on the road and officers try to break up the fight.

Essex Police confirmed a woman was arrested later on that night in connection to the incident.

A spokesman said: "A 29-year old woman was arrested on Friday 31 July just after 10.05pm following reports of a disturbance in Marine Parade, Southend.

"She has been arrested on suspicion of assault and racially aggravated public order.

"She has been released on bail until Friday August 21."
